Loops 8

Loops 8 consists of two pieces created as a set, continuing the ideas explored in the Loops collection. Through repeated brushstrokes and layers built over time, the work aims to create the smoothest possible color transition.

The palette moves from pastel pink into dark grey green, using complementary color relationships to create a softness that still holds contrast. In each painting, the top layer reverses the colors of the background, creating a shifting figure–ground relationship. As the upper colors gradually fade back into the surface, the boundary between what moves forward and what recedes becomes uncertain.

The second piece follows the same structure in reverse. Placed side by side, the two works complete one another — moving from light to dark, forward to backward, repetition to reversal — forming a continuous loop.
